Watt Efficiency's Services to Business
Watt Efficiency provides a comprehensive suite of lighting products and services to assist business to reduce energy costs and upgrade the energy efficiency of equipment.
Efficiency Assessment
Watt Efficiency assists its Customers to quickly assess potential efficiency gains and energy cost savings within a rigorous framework of risk assessment and potential project returns.
Equipment Selection
Watt Efficiency's products have a number of key aspects in common: They are (1) high quality; (2) superior value; (3) backed by the manufacturer's warranty (4) fit for purpose in a commercial environment; and (5) comply with all relevant Australian safety and performance standards.
Project Management
Watt Efficiency's management has a long history of successfully analysing and managing the successful delivery of energy efficiency projects. Our business ethos is firmly grounded in the delivery of quality outcomes through effective project management.
Project Economics
Watt Efficiency's management has a strong track record in analysing project economics and risk, and we bring these skills to bear to assist our Customers to quantify the benefits of equipment upgrades through financial modelling and clearly stated assumptions.
Efficiency Assessment
In assisting our Customers to identify and assess potential cost savings from energy efficiency upgrades, Watt Efficiency recognises there is a clear nexus between the objectives of:
- Energy cost reduction through the use of energy-efficient equipment;
- Installing equipment that is fit for purpose (there is no point in reducing costs if the new equipment does not meet relevant standards, business needs or causes a loss of productivity). Watt Efficiency is required to ensure our projects comply with all relevant safety and performance standards including AS/NZS 1680 re lumen intensity;
- Installing equipment that is both reliable and safe (maintenance costs are a key component of equipment life cycle costs); and
- Achieving minimum project return hurdles (cost reduction projects must compete for funding and compare favourably in risk and IRR terms with competing business projects). Assumptions regarding upfront capital costs, maintenance costs, environmental credit offsets, funding and risk scenarios are key inputs to our Project Economic Analysis .
Equipment Selection
Key aspects of the equipment we offer are:
- Quality;
- Superior value;
- Warranty: Supported by warranties offered by both Watt Efficiency and the Manufacturer;
- Fit for Purpose: our products are selected for performance in a commercial environment resulting in low life cycle costs; and
- Compliance: our products meet or exceed all relevant Australian safety and performance standards.
Project Management
All our Projects are undertaken in accordance with an agreed Lighting Installation Plan that is:
- compliant with all relevant Australian lighting standards; and
- prepared using recognised industry standard lighting modelling software and/or lux measurements referenced to a reflected ceiling plan.
Watt Efficiency will enter into a binding Supply and Installation Agreement with you before we commence work, setting out:
- The obligations of Watt Efficiency to manage the Project to a timetable and in accordance with your specific requirements;
- A full Project costing including a clear identification of all customer contribution amounts; and
- A detailed set of manufacturers’ product specifications for each lighting product be installed;
Project Economics
Watt Efficiency recognises that each project must compete for scarce capital. Hence, when we present our projects we provide our Customers with an economic rationale for the project in the form of a project cashflow model that may be used to sensitise the project for different forecast scenarios. The cashflow model will include clearly stated assumptions for all key investment parameters including:
- Capital cost of the delivered project;
- Current and forecast operating costs for current and upgraded equipment;
- Current and forecast energy consumption for current and upgraded equipment;
- Current and forecast energy prices; and
- Cost of capital and discount rates;
